May 12 Weekly Open Thread--Street Shark

Presented for your amusement, a photo from the parking lot at the Great Meadow Field Events Center in northern Virginia, taken at Saturday's Team America Rocketry Challenge national fly-off.

[Insert theme music from "Jaws" here.]As always, this is the place to talk about all things automotive.

A most unique way of embellishing a VW microbus, the automotive voice of the counterculture. I vaguely remember driving a few of them and remarked that they were rather underpowered. I heard that they were hard on valves due to the blunt front end, lacking any elements of aerodynamics. They were good for hauling items, basically a box on wheels. They did aid in putting VW on the map.

I know Im WAAAAY behind the times Moviewise but I just got done seeing KILL BILL 1&2 on Netflix and I gotta tell ya, Those films are chock-full of lustworthy rides.

There's a DeThomaso Mangusta ,UMA, a vw Karmann Ghia convertible,UMA, A Kawi ZX-11, UMA, A custom Chevy Silverado "Pussy Wagon" and lets not forget Uma Thurman...For me she is in a lustworthyness class all by herself

...oh and the red type2 with the sheet-eatin' grin looks less to me like a shark and more like MUMBLES from the 60s TV cartoon version of Dick Tracy
