Carspotters' Challenge #27--Romantic Comedy Edition

Today's challenge is a still from Murphy's Romance, a 1985 romantic comedy starring Sally Field and James Garner.

In this scene, Sally Field's character and her son are leafletting parked cars. The mix of cars in this scene is representative of what you'd see in parking lots in the non-road salt parts of the country during that era. Anything strike your fancy?

The film was shot in a small Arizona rural town south of Phoenix...so we might note some regional influence.
Note:m only two apanese cars, unusual for the West, even back then.
Also, the amount of trucks..even an old CJ-5.

Nothing much strikes my fancy, though the Dodge wagon would be neat to have today if it was in great condition.

I like the Ford van/camper with the white pop-up roof that's in the upper right corner of the picture.

What a bunch of boring cars!

The undeniably brown Mercury Marquis, the one by the banana yellow Lynx/Escort. Or that Green '72 Fury Wagon, next to the tutone F-Series w/topper.

I like that '77-ish T-bird, lower left corner.

With the Thunderbird exclusive "landau and canopy" vinyl roof.

Al S., plus the opera windows, stand-up hood ornament, and hidden headlights.

They just don't make them like that any more.

I'll take the 72 Fury wagon! (as noted by Al S.)

Is that a 1982-84/early 3rd-gen Pontiac Firebird? DIBS!! I CALLED IT!

Also, dibs on the blue car (the one in front of that sweet red Ford F-series with camper shell), which seems to be a S110 Datsun/Nissan 200SX.

Also, I believe the station wagons on the far left of the pic are Ford LTD Crown Victoria station wagon and Country Squire (because of the woodgrain, if I'm not mistaken). White, early 3rd-gen Chevrolet Camaro. 2nd-gen Ford Econoline.

Being that the pic came from IMCDb.com, I cheated and checked what was posted, which isn't much. That "Dodge" station wagon is specified as a 1972 Plymouth Fury Sport Suburban. The yellow compact is an early 1st-gen Ford Escort, 1982, apparently. Take a guess which one is the 1976 Buick Electra 225.

Here's a pic from the same site, we can see in detail the cars in the back row:

A 4th-gen Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Datsun/Nissan 720 pick-up truck.

Is that a Ford Maverick besides the Fury Sport Suburban station wagon?

While it may very well be a early 3rd gen Camaro, it may also be a later Camaro Berlinetta. The luxury 'maro. But i'm no expert.

I'd like the wagon with the optional 440. BTW/ That yellow one looks like an 88 Olds 98.

@tigerstrypes I totally want that early 3rd gen Pontiac F-body! I missed it too - way off in the corner! Good call! It's yours!

(Hey, no cheating on IMCDB!)

Y'all can keep your itty bitty Camaros and Firebirds. I want dibs on the '76 Electra! There ain't no substitute for acreage.

I do believe there's a white AMC Concord sneaking into the frame on the right side.

That yellow Escort is a 1982, the 81’s didn’t have the Ford oval on the grill (or anywhere) and the 83’s had more slats in the grill, how’s that for a repository of useless knowledge! Sadder yet is the fact that the Escort is the car I’d take (although the Econoline is tempting). I would love to put a 2.0 Zetec and five speed in it with some BAT (British American Transfer) suspension and brake upgrades. Yes I know, I have issues.
