Carspotters' Challenge #12--Road America, 1963

The parking lot outside the track at Elkhart Lake is at least as interesting as the race itself.

Most recognizable is the white 1963 Chevy Station Wagon and then the 1959 Ford caught my eye. the white Studebaker behind the Chevy wagon and then the 59 Chevy next to the white Corvair, there's a white Ford Falcon in that row also. There's another, darker colored 1963 Chevy wagon to the right side of the picture. I see a white 1963(?) Thunderbird nestled in there, too.

I see three VW Beetles and possibly a white Corvair van.

1962 Corvette convertible next to the white Falcon.

I’m geeking out over the big Healey front and center, the already mentioned Falcon Sprint and the beautiful Alfa Romeo Giulietta, third row back, 4th car from the right edge of the photo. What’s the second car to the right of the Alfa, looks close to an MGA hardtop but I know it’s not?

Next to the Austin Healey is a '54 or '55 DeSoto hardtop. Third row has a '60's Studebaker Lark, fifth row has a '64? Ford convert with a white top. Several down from that is a '55 Chev. Now I have to take a harder look

is that a white 63 Sting Ray Convertible? about 8 or 9 rows back on the left side of the photo.

The DeSoto is a '55. The white topped convertible is a '63 Chrysler 300, but not a 'J' (they only built coupes that year). Between the Beetle and the Falcon is an old Benz with what looks like a '60 Imperial behind it; and a 'Bugeye' Sprite behind that. In the far distance, behind the 'Vair van and another Beetle, it looks like a very early Saab.
