This week, we're in Dyersberg, Tennessee, in the Bicentennial year of 1976, when the Avocado Green-ing of America was in full swing and vinyl was considered proper roofing material.

*Monte Carlo lust*

Car lust is so irrational. That Monte Carlo might well be my most hated vehicle of all time.

Now the K-5 Blazer is talking to me. In the row behind the black Ford truck (behind the Blazer) is a green 1974-75 Chevy Impala.

Being a '68-'72 GM muscle car guy, I see a bunch of "parts" that have since been crushed & sent to China I'd like to have back!!! That a 68 or 9 cutlass I see ? A vega wagon maybe, to the left.

Reminds me of Charlottesville, Va circa 1976. I was in college and the local K-mart had a sign as you entered that it was one of the first stores to have background music. There was a giant reel to reel tape recorder on the wall right near the front doors.
I see a Ford Torino in a perfect seventies color on the left, and there are a few good station wagons, Buick for one, that I see.

Close up is a blue 73-74 Monte Carlo (missing center caps) following behind a Brown 72-73 T-Bird
1st row of parked cars:
73-74 Chevy Blazer
73 Olds Delta 88
73 Chevy Impala/Caprice
73 Pontiac Catalina
73-74 Chevy Nova
74-76 Buick Estate Wagon
73-74 (or newer) Chevy/GMC Pickup
the next two I'm not sure on

I'm astounded that Kmart ever had that many customers.

A lot of white cars back then and no black cars. Things are different on today's parking lots
