Carspotters' Challenge #11--Spring Break in Myrtle Beach

Today's challenge is a postcard from the online collection of writer James Lileks, who describes it thus:

An example of a simple truth: there's no point where one cool style simply gives way to the lesser styles that follow it. Things evolve. This is an example: all the stylistic antecedents are 60s, but nearly everything here could be ugly and ur-Seventies if you just gave it a push.

Dear Aunt Myrtle: They named a beach after you--ha ha!As for the cars in the photo, what do you see?

Hmmm, from left to right, the blue wagon looks like an AMC of some sort (an Ambassador, perhaps?) Next is a red 65 Chevy Impala, blue mid-60s Olds Delta 88, white Rambler American wagon, mid-60s white Olds 98, white Buick LeSabre, next... perhaps a 68-69 white Mercury Montego..?

Yeah, Ambassador was the first thing I thought when I saw the blue wagon. Not sure. Appears to not have wrap around tail light lenses. Don't know my AMCs well enough to know the exact model. But these look close:

See a 66 Olds 88 (Delta? Holiday?) and an AMC station wagon, and a 65 or 66 Chevy station wagon.
