April 16th Open Thread - Mail your taxes today!
Just a friendly reminder, Uncle Sam wants his cut, and he doesn't like to wait. Unless you file for an extention. And then only for a little while. I'm proud to say we finished our taxes early this year. As in Friday. Last Friday.
Death and taxes. Unfortunately I got word of a pending car world death. The closure of a regional car museum comes later this week - Ellingson Car Museum - http://ellingsoncarmuseum.com/ I'm hoping to take a field trip up there later this week before they close.

If you are in the market for a "new" car check out their offerings on the left side bar under "Cars for sale". You say you want a show quality 1954 Buick Roadmaster Convertable? We can do that. The '69 Corvette keeps calling me asking me to bring it home. My wife said no. Seriously though, that is my dream car.
And a 1952 Kaiser Traveler? Where's my drool towel? How can you say no to the hybridization of a Sherman tank and grandma's station wagon?
If you could chose any car on their sale list, what would it be and why?
As always this is your place for all the random thoughts that might not fit under our other various thread.

I would love the 55 Stude, as I already have a 61 Hawk, and the 55 is even better looking IMHO. However, I don't have the disposable income to have more that 1 fun car...I like the Kaiser too, as I could have a cool old car that could carry my "stuff".
The Hudson's cool too, and in my price range. Convert it to disc brakes, add 3 point seat belts, and i'd drive it to work:)
The Catalina's a neat ride, but I would probably get in trouble with a 389 under the hood..

-I really dig the 1978 Silver Anniversary Corvette because unlike his black unsold counterpart, this one has a manual!
-The 1966 Pontiac LeMans is lovely (and has a manual!) even if it's a convertible.
-Lil Red Express is cool, despite the aftermarket radio.
-You can never go wrong with a Beetle
-I'd choose the Firebird over the Mustang, even though both of these are automatics.
-The one that defines pure, unadultered lust is the 1972 Imperial sedan. It amazes me but where the hell am I gonna find non-running gear parts for it? Hope nobody buys it to just yank its 440...
-That's why the 1967 Cadillac Fleetwood more-door grabbed my attention, even if you get what you pay for. But parts are more available.
-The one that truly yanks my chain is the 1979 Ford Ranchero. Parts won't be easy to come buy compare to its Bow-tie-blood-rival, but since this example isn't pristine, I won't have to baby it too much and have no problems modifying it. The rims and steering wheel will have to go (I bet I can sell 'em) and the not-stock sound system will get upgraded. Then who knows?

Sunbeam Tiger. All the joys of open-air motoring in a small, light car--weaponized with a V-8.
