Car: 2006-2007 Subaru Impreza, WRX, and WRX STi
Condition: Angry, slightly cross-eyed
Possible Motivation: You can see in the Impreza's eyes its deep-seated resentment at wearing its fourth different face in five years. And after all that change it gets saddled with an Edsel-like horse collar grille? I'd be angry too.

Sorry Chris... I LOOOOOOVVEEEEE that grill. I wish subaru had the balls to keep it, it was unique, it looked cool, and it really set them apart. Now all the refreshes just make the cars blend in and look boring. New STi/WRX? Zzzz looks like a Chrysler Sebring nose on a mazda 3. New Tribeca? Wait, you've seen one? I haven't. Because it's so dull looking.
I really wished Subaru would have kept that grill. Such a unique car company deserves a unique grill.

Yeah, I don't mind the grill so much, but really I think the best-looking Imprezas and WRXs are these:

It's a shame Subaru didn't continue using the the SVX's design elements. Like many of Giugiaro's designs, it's still a looker. Now imagine a car with the SVX's shape and the WRX's capabilities.

It wouldn't take much. Buy an SVX for $3000-5000, swap in a 5spd or 6spd, remove about 200lbs. Then it'd have the same weight of a WRX, with a tad more power, NA style, no turbo. My buddy has a WRX, and he'll kill my off the line, but I'll walk him like a poodle at high speeds. >shrug<

YES! my car! I agree with rob SVX - that grille was distinctive, and it has really grown on me. That said, it looked like crap on the Tribeca.

I may possibly be the only person in the world who kinda liked the front end treatment on the Tribeca...eh well.

The B9 Tribeca looks awful with this style, but the Impreza looks awesome with this look.
