". . . Tastefully Overdone."
I saw this ride in a restaurant parking lot a couple weekends ago. It's a 1955 Buick Special that has been, shall we say, aggressively customized into a hot rod.
Every square inch of the vehicle has been pinstriped--by hand. The patterns are intricate and complex. As you can tell from the closeup of the hood below, it took some serious time and a lot of talent to do this. (The swooping Spirograph raptor is cool enough, but it's the little golfer hitting a cartoon bomb with a 1 wood that really sets it off!)
The owner of this machine clearly has a sense of humor. Along the bottom of the left rear quarter window is an inscription: “Nothing Is Too Much . . . If It’s Tastefully Overdone.”
Words to live by.

Beautiful ! The hub caps are amazing. The plate reads "PHATT". The grill work is very cool - what are those knobs?
Note the El Camino to the right - looks like something interesting on the left too. Where is this crazy car heaven?
Words to live by indeed.

Very impressive! This reminds me that, right about now, I should tastefully overdo lunch or something... *grin*

@Mochi: "Where is this crazy car heaven?"
It's called "The Barn" and it's just north of Wooster, Ohio. There must have been a car show that day somewhere close by. There were hotrods all over the road, as well as in the parking lot.

I have to admit, it's somewhat cooler than putting two dozen speakers where the back seat used to be, ten LCD monitors in the doors, and a cement mixer in the trunk, then calling the finished product "pimped."

Hot rods aren't typically my style, but this one is pretty fantastic. It's really made by the endearingly self-aware tagline. Nice catch!
